April Goals

I cannot believe it’s already April! This year is really flying by and I’m not quite sure if that is a good or bad thing. I feel extremely blessed to be where I am in life however I never want to settle. I feel like there are always things I can do to improve myself and by improving myself I can improve my life. So here are the five things I am going to focus on in April!


My first goal for April is to save $600 to put towards my car. I crunched some numbers and if all my babysitting jobs keep and if I put a small portion of each paycheck away I will be able to save enough to make a $600 payment. This would be huge in my efforts to pay off my car quickly and I’m excited to make that happen this month. Yes, I’m a little nerdy and I get excited when I’m able to make large payments on loans. It makes me feel good and accomplished!


My second goal is to get my butt back in the gym. I used to be somewhat of a gym rat. I was there 5-6 days a week, sometimes twice a day. Now, that was too much it was almost all consuming. Once I came to that realization though, I went completely the other direction and I stopped going to the gym all together. So my goal for April is to go to the gym at least 3 days a week. Get back into the swing of things and hopefully then I’ll want to go more often once the gym becomes part of my routine again.


This one is kind of silly but my third goal is not to get in my bed before 8:00pm. I am known as the granny of my group. I love to stay home, I love my room and my bed, I LOVE SLEEP. Now most people don’t see this as a problem however I tend to be such a homebody that I will come home from work and spend the entire evening in my room. I need to cut this out. I need to branch out, be active, be social. Not be such a granny. I’m not saying I need to be out partying but just something as simple as going to Starbucks after work and working on the blog for a few hours or meeting a friend for dinner to catch up. There’s no need to go straight home and climb in bed after work. So my third goal is to stay away from my bedroom until after 8:00pm!


The fourth goal is to clean out my dang closet! I have so many pieces of clothing that sit in my closet and my dresser that I never wear anymore. I have always been a bit of a hoarder when it comes to clothes. I always try to clean out my closet but then I think, “well what if I want to wear this again” and I just end up keeping everything. So my goal this month is to get rid of the clothes I never wear. Either list them on Poshmark or give them to Goodwill.


This seems trivial but my final goal for April is to read a book. One book. Any book. I used to read two or three books a month but for whatever reason I had been reading less and less until I wasn’t reading at all anymore. I miss just getting lost in a good book but I kept coming up with excuses and things I just had to do so I didn’t have time to read. It’s all nonsense though. There is always time to sit down and read a little. So we’re starting with baby steps here. One month, one book. I will do it!
