It is with great excitement that I get to say my favorite season is finally upon us. We survived the harsh winter and now we reap the rewards of our patience in the form of flowers and sunshine. Spring is my absolute favorite season. I love the weather, I love the wardrobe, I love the outdoor activities we can start doing around town. The weather has been in the 70s & 80s for the past two days and is predicted to stay in the 70s for the next ten days at least. We’ve gotten a few rain storms lately, which is another thing I love about spring. The sound of rain and thunder, sitting on the porch watching the lightening. I love it all.
Last week I wrote about my April goals. I’m happy to say April is off to a strong start for the most part. I’ve already completed three babysitting jobs and I am more than halfway to my April savings goal. I also rejoined the gym and have gone almost every day! It feels SO good to be back in the gym. I have been going in the morning before work, which is basically a miracle because i’m not a morning person, and it’s been awesome. I feel much more energized and don’t feel like I need a nap midway through my work day.
So far, the only downer in the first week of April has been that I was sick this weekend. Friday night I was babysitting and started to feel really warm. Turns out I had a fever of 100.5! Luckily the kids were already in bed by the time I started feeling sick so I’m hopeful that I didn’t get them sick. I went straight to bed when I got home and when I woke up Saturday the fever was up to 102. I was supposed to babysit Saturday night but I had to cancel on the family. I felt horrible because I really hate letting people down or breaking my commitments but I knew better than to be around a 9 month old baby when I had a fever. I slept basically all of Saturday and by the time I woke up for church this morning I was feeling a lot better.
So I tried to take advantage of what little bit was left of this weekend by writing and then enjoying some time outside in this beautiful weather. Riley and I went to the park for a hike with my friend and his dog. It was so beautiful outside. There were so many people and dogs on the trails, lots of activity going on. It was a great way to spend the afternoon. Now I’m relaxing with some Netflix before get some sleep and head into a new week.
